Business developer (CDI)

PolyPeptide Laboratories France, the French subsidiary of an international group of approximately 850 people, specializes in the development and the manufacture of peptide based active ingredients for pharmaceutical use, is looking for a Business Developer with experience within the Life Sciences Industry, based in Strasbourg.

For the Global Sales & Marketing Team and reporting to its Sales Director, PolyPeptide Laboratories France, the Business Developer is in charge of

  • Driving sales revenue growth through the development and implementation of strategies to generate sales from new and existing accounts in an assigned territory.
  • Building an internal network that enables success.
  •  Identifying new target clients follows through on leads from a variety of sources.
  • Focusing on new custom development projects and commercial manufacturing projects for PolyPeptide Group manufacturing facilities.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Business Development

Identifies opportunities with new and existing clients through interaction with Marketing Intelligence, personal research, networking and an intimate knowledge of the global business/territory.

  • Understands the organization and business needs of clients.
  • Identify and present PolyPeptide’s value proposition, including opportunities for strategic cooperation.
  • Establish or maintain regular meetings and contacts with clients
  • Coordinating (with site(s) Operations) and participating in client site visits.
  • Promote PolyPeptide’s Global services by supporting and attending seminars, trade shows and exhibitions.
  • Identifies the client’s decision structure for outsourcing development, manufacturing & supporting CMC services.
  • Prepare and present Proposals and Agreements to clients
  • Negotiate, implement and coordinate the execution of Confidentiality, Development, Master Service & Supply agreements.
  • Collaborate with Project Management in periodic project review meetings with clients.
  • Communicates information and project requirements to enable evaluation and generation of development, manufacturing & supporting CMC services proposals by the assessment teams and relevant site functions.
  • Manages updates, maintains and records all relevant activities in the CRM for the assigned/generated opportunities to ensure data is accurate and current.
  • Communicates feedback to the management team and relevant site functions
  • Provides periodic reports.

Administrative

  • Communicates information and project requirements to enable evaluation and generation of development, manufacturing & supporting CMC services proposals by the assessment teams and relevant site functions.
  • Manages updates, maintains and records all relevant activities in the CRM for the assigned/generated opportunities to ensure data is accurate and current.
  • Communicates feedback to the management team and relevant site functions
  • Provides periodic reports.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCES

  •  Academic degree (BSc/MSc or PHD) in chemistry-related sciences
  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry with high focus on drug development process
  • Customer-focused and result-oriented with proven experience in Sales/Business Development (preferably in CMO/CRO or related service industry)
  • Strong negotiating and organizational skills
  • Excellent communicator and decision maker
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Ready to travel >60 days primarily in Europe (internal meetings, exhibits and client visits)
  • Good knowledge of Windows applications
  • Use and application of CRM systems an advantage
